The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency officially filed its industrial carbon pollution rule with the Federal Register Friday, kicking off a 60-day window for Michigan residents to weigh in on the standard for new power plants.
Michigan members of Health Care Without Harm, National Wildlife Federation, Clean Water Action, Sierra Club and other Michigan residents support the industrial carbon rule standard because it will curb pollution, which in turn will improve public health.
According to the EPA, millions of metric tons of carbon dioxide are emitted into Michigan’s air every year.
