FIELD SUPERVISOR

This position reports directly to the Operations Director. Responsible for the packaging, storing, cleaning up, transporting, and disposing of waste material, including hazardous waste, in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Responsible for directing field personnel while on the job site.

Position Responsibilities

  • Act as point-of-contact between Operations office staff and field personnel
  • Verify proper equipment and tools are available for the job
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of health and safety and work plans and supervision of field personnel
  • Interface with customer at job sites during and at completion of job
  • Complete daily paperwork and submit in a timely manner
  • Train Environmental Service Technicians (and other staff as necessary) in the fundamentals of environmental clean-up and other field work
  • Handle wastes and contaminated materials at work sites
  • Carry out tasks involving manual labor
  • Complete required training in a timely manner
  • Maintain required certifications
  • Participate in pre-job walk-through with sales representatives to determine proper approach, equipment, and personnel for the job
  • Assist Director of Operations Manager as needed
  • Participate in company-wide safety training and meetings
  • Other duties (temporary or permanent) as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 7+ years of field experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Valid Chauffeur License
  • Good driving record (3 points or less)
  • Current Medical Examiner’s Card
  • Reliable transportation
  • 24-hour contact number
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written/oral) skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Positive and professional
  • Must demonstrate a proactive approach to all tasks and responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
  • Trained in Confined Space
  • Trained in Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Valid US Passport

Special Position Requirements

  • 24/7/365 work schedule
  • Optional to participate in an on-call rotation for the handling of after-hours emergency calls
  • Travel as necessary (extensive and project-driven)
  • Comprehensive understanding of emergency response/HAZMAT operations
  • Up-to-date HAZWOPER, ICS, and Confined Space training certifications

Work Requirements

Work primarily in the field. Must be physically and mentally able to maintain work in demanding conditions (e.g., rough weather, bad seas, remote locations, etc.). May also be required to work around chemicals and other toxic substances. Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 100+ pounds. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
